Strong Roots

Every day, ADM colleagues apply their intelligence, innovations, commitment and care to fulfill our mission.  We realize our mission by sourcing, transporting and turning crops into products that meet the world’s growing and vital needs for more food, more energy and a healthier environment.  Our work, and the future we share with all, depends on the responsible, sustainable development of agriculture throughout the world.

To help foster this development, we are investing millions of dollars in initiatives that support safe, responsible and environmentally sound agricultural practices in critical growing regions in South America, North America, Europe, West Africa and Southeast Asia.

Recent Activity

  • $540,000 to Doing It Right, our partnership with the Brazilian sustainable farming group Alianca da Terra to promote sustainable soy farming.
  • $575,000 to Opportunities Industrialization Centers International – Cote d’Ivoire (OICI-CI), funding bridge and well construction projects in 24 villages throughout the cocoa-growing region.
  • $10 million to the ADM Institute for the Prevention of Postharvest Loss, a partnership with University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana to address key societal issues of hunger and poverty by enhancing information, technologies and supply chains to ensure more harvested crops reach needy populations for critical food consumption.
