On behalf of the Hiring Our Heroes team, Rebekah Stroman would like to cordially invite you to join us for the Roundtable on Veterans in Agriculture, to be held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, August 23rd.
This event will highlight the various employment opportunities in the agriculture industry that are available to veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses. We will also debut new technology designed to help increase ag career marketability to veterans and service members.
Please see the attached invitation to RSVP.
Over the next 5 years, 35,400 new U.S. graduates with expertise in food, ag, renewable natural resources, or the environment will fill only 61% of the expected 57,900 average annual openings. As demand will outpace supply, employers will look at related areas to fill talent needs. (USDA, 2015)
U.S. Agriculture must be nimble to meet the world’s demands for food, feed, renewable chemicals, fuel and other manufacturing outputs. Innovation, which rests on diversity in its broadest sense, will be key.
Overall success will not be tied to individual efforts; rather, partnership, across the industry, is required to grow the pipeline of talent to form a competitive, U.S. Ag Advantage.
