We are looking for a distinguished set of high potential individuals ready to take on tremendous responsibilities and challenges within our Leadership Development Program. Over a four-year period, we will provide you an outstanding opportunity to develop strong strategic planning, business development and financial skills that will prepare you for management positions in ADM. Assignments start in the U.S.; however, international opportunities exist during and after the program.
Assignment
New employees spend approximately two years each in the Strategic Planning and Corporate Finance departments. The initial placement is determined by business needs, although the employee’s preference is taken into consideration. If the first assignment is in Planning, then the second assignment is generally a rotation into Finance, or vice-versa. An alternative second assignment could involve a field position in one of ADM’s business segments working in strategy and business development or operations.
Strategic Planning
In the Strategic Planning group, you will team up with senior executives and work on diverse assignments in strategic analysis, financial planning, business development and mergers and acquisitions.
Corporate Finance
In the Corporate Finance Group, your work will include diverse assignments in capital planning, capital structure analysis, working capital analysis, financial statement analysis, liquidity management, equity and debt capital markets, structured finance, risk management and pension assets management. You will partner with senior executives to make key financial decisions and gain insights that will serve you well during your entire career.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Leadership Development Program, students must meet the following criteria:
• Currently pursuing a master of business administration degree,
• Strong analytical and leadership skills,
• Solid written and oral communication skills in English,
• Three or more years of professional experience (finance background
is a plus),
• Entrepreneurial mind-set, and
• Willingness to travel without geographical restrictions.
For this program, ADM will sponsor work visas for international students.
Corporate Finance Internship
Assignment
During our intense 12 week program, interns will be engaged in a three-month preview of our Leadership Development Program. Candidates will be given the opportunity to work on one or more projects in the Corporate Finance department. Potential assignments could include, but are not limited to:
• Capital structure, credit rating and long-term financial analysis,
• Capital markets and funding related analysis,
• Lease vs. buy analysis and associated modeling, and
• Competitive financial bench marking and analysis.
Qualifications
To be considered for an opportunity, students must be currently pursuing an M.B.A. and within one year of graduation and have three years of full-time work experience in finance, trading or similar position. Candidates must have proven negotiation skills and solid written and oral communication skills in English. A high degree of comfort working with international partners and counterparties and reviewing contracts and other legal documents is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work as an intern in the U.S.
Internship is based at corporate headquarters in Decatur, Illinois.
