Performing their jobs safely is a top priority for every ADM employee, every day. To sustain ADM’s progress towards Zero incidents, we need safety and health professionals to lead that effort. Having a commitment to staying abreast of regulatory developments, best practices, technology and innovation are essential qualities for ADM Safety and Health (S&H) employees.
From coordinating health activities and training to performing inspections, audits and reports, as a new S&H employee you will gain a wide range of experience in promoting safety improvements and tracking them. Opportunities include positions in the corporate Office of Compliance and Ethics, and S&H positions at the divisional, regional and local levels.
Occupational Safety & Health Intern
During our intensive 12-week summer program, interns move between an industrial/plant environment and a business/office environment. They work in bioproducts, corn processing, milling or oilseeds processing. Potential assignments might include these responsibilities:
- Implement, apply and monitor the Occupational/Food, Safety/Health/Environmental plant operational principles,
- Participate in safety audits and investigations; recommend corrective action,
- Track and prioritize the completion of audit findings,
- Document controls that ensure compliance with plant, customer and government policies, and
- Take on additional projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
To be considered for an internship, students must be currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in occupational safety and health or related field. Students must have a demonstrated leadership ability while flexible enough to work in a team setting when needed, display strong communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate with varying levels of colleagues. A minimum 2.75 GPA is preferred.
