ADM's multi-faceted fleet provides the capability to transport products over river,
rail, ocean and land. If one mode of transportation reaches a bottleneck, ADM has the flexibility to transport that product via other means. Frequently, more than one form of transport is used to serve a customer, underscoring the importance of our vertically integrated structure to coordinate the process in a timely and efficient manner.

Freight Broker
As a team member of a world-class logistics group, the position of freight broker negotiates and procures truck capacity for ADM Logistics’ internal and external customers. This fast-paced position will be responsible for negotiating freight rates and assigning loads to established carriers on a national basis.   As customer needs dictate, the freight broker will develop and build new carrier relationships. The broker will provide outstanding customer service while assisting account managers in growing new and existing accounts.

Requirements
Candidates will have a college degree with intermediate Microsoft® Word and Excel skills. Prior use of Dispatch Software, knowledge of brokerage, third party logistics and freight forwarding is helpful. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Having strong organizational skills and being an aggressive self-starter will be needed to be successful in this role.  Light travel is required.

Internship
Interns learn to communicate with people on all levels on a daily basis and build relationships with carriers. They assist directors with troubleshooting and overall smooth management of ADM’s transportation division. This exciting opportunity is designed to expose logistics majors or those from a similar discipline to many aspects of ADM Transportation. The program is designed as a meaningful professional experience that could lead candidates to a career with ADM.

Requirements
Ideal candidates will have completed 90 semester hours, or be within two semesters of graduation and maintain a minimum of 2.75 GPA, with a degree focus preferably in transportation/logistics, but all related majors will be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft® Office applications is required. Successful candidates will have a confident and courteous manner and strong leadership skills. They must be able to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phone. Position requires filing, keyboarding and working on the telephone. Travel may be required for training purposes.
