Decatur Link Program

ADM is pleased to recognize the many employees at our Decatur headquarters who shared their time and talents with local high school counselors and teachers in ADM’s new Link Program. The unique program was designed to help educators prepare their students for the workplace by demonstrating the direct link from high school graduation to the technical and professional career options available at ADM.

“We were excited to offer local educators the opportunity to shadow ADM employees, learning about jobs and skills used here each day,” said Kathie Whitley, vice president ADM Human Resources. “Through the Link Program, we were able to help teachers identify the gaps between high school curriculum and workplace experience. We hope to build a pipeline to attract talented students in our area.”

More than 20 ADM employee volunteers represented departments including Accounting, Information Technology, Research, Commodity Merchandising, Sensory, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Corporate Communications, Food Science, Human Resources, Engineering, Foreign Language, Transportation, Culinary, Sales,
Environmental and Legal.

Congratulations to the Link Program coordinators and volunteers for their efforts to support our local schools.

Decatur has been home to the ADM Corporate Headquarters since 1969. Within the community, ADM has over 50 locations and employs more than 4,600 people. ADM operates the world’s largest corn processing plant in Decatur, which produces an array of products including corn oil, corn gluten feed and meal and a number of cornbased sweeteners. The Decatur soybean plant produces soy-based products ranging from soy flour and grits to soy proteins and isoflavones. At the James R. Randall Research Center, scientists develop new products and processes based on some of ADM’s core raw materials – corn, oilseeds and wheat. They continually look for new breakthroughs in food, feed, biofuels and industrial products by using innovative techniques and stateof-the-art instruments.
Every day, the 27,000 people of Archer Daniels Midland Company turn crops into renewable products that meet the demands of a growing world. At more than 240 processing plants, we convert corn, oilseeds, wheat and cocoa into products for food, animal feed, chemical and energy uses. We operate the world’s premier crop origination and transportation network, connecting crops and markets in more than 60 countries.
