During our annual Global Safety Week, ADM is pleased to recognize the safety performance of employees at the Decatur Bioproducts facility, which recently celebrated its best-ever record for injury-free work days.
Hundreds of team members and contractors have attended training for our Values- Based Safety® initiative, which encourages safe behavior in the workplace by training employees and contractors to observe safe behaviors and provide positive feedback.
The VBS initiative would not be possible without the volunteer efforts of the hourly employees who have taken on new responsibilities to lead this effort. These volunteers ensure everyone is aware of specific safety focus areas, promote upcoming meetings, plan celebrations and recognize individual performance.
“It’s the dedication of these committee members that will make our safety improvements sustainable,” says Jackie Blair-Vodde, safety manager. “Their efforts are helping improve our participation rates, and as these rates climb, we are also seeing a reduction in the number of recordable incidents and fewer first aid cases for our colleagues and contractors.”
Congratulations to the Decatur Bioproducts team for their dedication to improving safety.
