Shannon S. Herzfeld is vice president, Government Relations, for Archer Daniels Midland Company. She is based in Washington, D.C.
Herzfeld joined ADM in 2005. She previously served as Senior Vice President, International Affairs, at The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) trade association. Prior to that, she served as Director-International Trade Services for Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P., and in various positions in the U.S. government.
Herzfeld serves as an appointee to the USDA Agriculture Policy Advisory Committee as well as the International Trade Advisory Committee (Energy Sector) of the Department of Commerce. She is a member of the National Public Affairs Steering Committee of the National Association of Manufacturers and a founding Board Member of the National Corn Growers Ag-Industry Council and the American Soybean Association Action Partnership. She previously served on the Department of State Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy, and was a founding Board Member of the Global Harvest Initiative as well as the New Vision for Agriculture initiative of the World Economic Forum.
Herzfeld holds a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and master’s degrees in Arts and Law from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
