Boeing Military Airplanes/Wichita Division issues "NTO" for ADM's ENVIROSTRIP
® XL - Corn Hybrid Polymer Media
On November 16, 1999, the Boeing Military Airplane Division notified the United States Air Force (OC-ALC) of its “no technical objection” to use of ADM’s EnviroStrip XL Corn Hybrid Polymer media.
Boeing conducted tests in accordance with Boeing Document D6-55564 and found EnviroStrip XL to be an acceptable media to remove finishes from metallic surfaces on KC-135 and B-52 aircraft.
EnviroStrip XL Corn Hybrid Polymer media was evaluated at the following parameters:
- 99.97 percent minimum purity
- 30 - 35 psi pressure measured at the nozzle
- 9 –14 pounds per minute flow rate
- 4 – 8 inches nozzles distance to surface
- 40 –60 degrees nozzle angle to surface

Boeing’s “NTO” provides for unlimited use (strip cycles) when using EnviroStrip XL media on the KC-135 and B-52 military aircraft. Boeing's test results can be found in Boeing Document D500-13031-1.
