Opportunity knocks for Ghanaian students pursuing agricultural careers

In June 2011, ADM joined forces with the World Cocoa Foundation and Safemarin, a large global shipping company, to announce the launch of the World Cocoa Foundation Agricultural Logistics Skill Development Programme at the KNUST School of Business in Kumasi, Ghana.

The program’s objective is to equip participants with training in logistics, supply chain management, warehousing and socio-economic issues. Graduates will be qualified for employment in the agriculture industry as logistics and warehousing technicians. Approximately 30 students have enrolled for the first phase of the program.

WCF is managing and overseeing the skills-development project through the ECHOES Alliance, WCF’s initiative to enhance agricultural education in cocoa farming communities, while KNUST School of Business is responsible for developing the curriculum.
