Diversity

Building a culture of inclusion and opportunity

The goal of ADM’s various diversity initiatives is to foster an inclusive culture in which our employees, business partners and suppliers can access valuable economic and professional opportunities while making important contributions to our company’s success.

In spite of a challenging economic environment in 2009, our spending with businesses owned wholly or primarily by members of traditionally disadvantaged groups increased 19 percent over the prior year, to approximately $520 million.

With a view to building a more diverse work force, ADM recruits top talent from historically black colleges and universities, including North Carolina A&T State University, Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Tuskegee University and Tennessee State University.  And to ensure a steady supply of talented, well prepared graduates, we have initiated diversity scholarship programs with North Carolina A&T, Kansas State University and The Ohio State University’s multicultural program.

ADM also sponsors or participates in a host of career fairs, including Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences; the Society of Women Engineers; Latinos for Hire; the American Association of Blacks in Energy; and the National Society of Black Engineers.
