In 2004, ADM and Risoil S.A. began a joint venture operation with CJSC Illichivskyy Maslo Ekstraktsiynyy Zavod in Illichivsk, near Odessa, to crush oilseeds. In 2007, ADM became the sole owner. Today, we have more than 1,300 employees in the Ukraine.
ADM also owns a trading company, ADM Ukraine LLC, which originates sunflower seeds and trades sunflower oil and meal.
In addition, ADM has ownership interest in Singapore-based Wilmar International Limited, which has locations in the Ukraine. Wilmar is a large agricultural processing business, and operates palm plantations; crushing facilities for various types of oilseeds; vegetable oil refineries and packaging facilities; plants that produce oleo chemicals, soy proteins and fertilizers; and multiple wheat and rice milling operations.
ADM takes pride in being a good citizen of the local community. The latest example of our commitment is a contribution to improve health care services and facilities at the Illichevsk city hospital.
