From modest origins as a Minneapolis linseed-oil manufacturer formed at the turn of the 20th century, Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) has grown to become one of the world’s premier agribusinesses, with operations on six continents, 29,000 employees and $62 billion in annual revenue. That growth has come through a business model that efficiently and reliably connects agricultural crops to world markets, strict attention to our customers’ needs, category-defining product innovations, exceptional production flexibility, and a continual emphasis on product quality and safety.
Every year, at more than 240 worldwide processing facilities, we turn millions of metric tons of crops – such as corn, oilseeds, wheat and cocoa – into food ingredients, animal feeds, biofuels and industrial products. Our customers include many of the world’s largest food and energy companies.
Though our global footprint expands with each passing year, much of ADM’s operational infrastructure and work force remain in the United States. Our corporate headquarters – home to centralized functions such as finance, law, human resources, research and marketing – sits directly across the road from a massive corn wet mill in Decatur, Illinois.
