ADM’s North American strategic sourcing team is responsible for selecting key suppliers to provide goods and services to ADM. The team does this by identifying suppliers who can bring measurable value to ADM through a combination of best prices, best service, and best quality.
The sourcing process begins by first identifying potential categories for review. The team then researches and selects highly qualified suppliers to participate in the sourcing event.
Once identified, potential suppliers may be contacted with a Request for Information (RFI), a Request for Proposal (RFP), or a Request for Quotation (RFQ). Suppliers should be prepared to showcase their capabilities and demonstrate how they can bring value to ADM.
Suppliers may be contracted on a regional, national, or international level. The strategic sourcing process is centralized, designed to make it easy for suppliers to work seamlessly with all of ADM’s businesses, across divisions and geographies, through one main point of contact. This also maximizes a supplier’s business opportunities.
Our approach brings value to the entire ADM business chain by reducing the overall costs of our operations through lower administrative costs and greater economies of scale. For more information on the products and services that we buy, please see our What We Buy list.
