ADM to Invest $2 Million to Boost Economic Development, Education and Community Efforts in Decatur

04/24/2014
DECATUR, Ill., April 24, 2014 – Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced grants to more than 75 Decatur-area organizations and programs, a commitment totaling $2 million in 2014.

“Decatur is home to our largest employee population, and we want to do our part to help ensure Decatur remains a strong and vibrant community for many years to come,” said Victoria Podesta, ADM vice president and chief communications officer.

The grants include a $125,000 contribution to create and implement a strategic development plan for the Midwest Inland Port, with the goal of increasing utilization of the port and attracting new businesses and jobs to Central Illinois.

“While we continue to contribute to a wide variety of programs and organizations doing important work throughout Decatur, we are also investing significant dollars this year to support local economic development efforts because we see an exciting opportunity to capitalize on the Midwest Inland Port to drive economic growth and bring new business and jobs to the region,” Podesta said.
