Cimarron Student Wins ADM Scholarship

06/11/2013
MONTEZUMA, Kan., June 12, 2013 – Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) announced today that Aiden Shaughnessy of Cimarron has been awarded a college scholarship through the ADM Scholarship Program.

“Congratulations to Aiden from all of us at ADM,” said John Wahl, manager for ADM’s grain elevator in Montezuma. “Aiden was selected to receive this ADM scholarship because he has already shown remarkable dedication and commitment to his academic work, extracurricular activities, and to his community.  We are pleased to be able to help provide him the opportunity for even more outstanding achievements in the future.”

Shaughnessy, a recent graduate of Cimarron High School, plans to study mechanical engineering at Parks College of Saint Louis University. His father, Sean Shaughnessy, works at ADM’s grain elevator in Montezuma.

The ADM Scholarship Program was created to assist the children of ADM active employees with the costs associated with a college education. Winners were selected on the basis of high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT; academic record throughout high school; significant activities and contributions to the school and community; the school’s recommendation of the candidate; and a student essay.
