Olathe Student Wins ADM Scholarship

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., July 2, 2012 – Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) announced today that Caroline Michael has been awarded a college scholarship through the ADM Scholarship Program.

“ADM is proud to sponsor this scholarship for Caroline,” said Mark Kolkhorst, president, ADM Milling. “Outstanding young leaders like Caroline have already shown tremendous dedication, ability, and commitment to their communities, and we are pleased to help provide them the opportunity for future achievements.”

Michael, a graduate of Olathe Northwest High School in Olathe, hopes to attend Colorado State University and plans to study civil engineering. Her mother is a customer service representative at ADM Milling’s corporate headquarters in Overland Park.

The ADM Scholarship Program was created to assist the children of ADM active employees with the costs associated with a college education. Winners were selected on the basis of high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT; academic record throughout high school; significant activities and contributions to the school and community; the school’s recommendation of the candidate; and a student essay.
