Salina Student Wins ADM Scholarship

SALINA, Kan., July 2, 2012 – Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) announced today that Casey Leister has been awarded a college scholarship through the ADM Scholarship Program.

“ADM is proud to sponsor this scholarship for Casey,” said Pete Goetzmann, vice president for ADM’s grain group. “Outstanding young leaders like Casey have already shown tremendous dedication, ability, and commitment to their communities, and we are pleased to help provide them the opportunity for future achievements.”

Leister, a graduate of Salina High School Central, hopes to attend Kansas State University and plans to study health professions to become a physician’s assistant. Her step-father works at ADM’s grain elevator in Salina.

The ADM Scholarship Program was created to assist the children of ADM active employees with the costs associated with a college education. Winners were selected on the basis of high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT; academic record throughout high school; significant activities and contributions to the school and community; the school’s recommendation of the candidate; and a student essay.
