Donald Chen is president, Asia-Pacific, for Archer Daniels Midland Company, and a member of the company’s Executive Council. In that position, he leads ADM's operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia and New Zealand.
Before joining ADM in January 2016, Chen was vice president, Parent Company Representative, at Sadara Chemical Company in Saudi Arabia, a multi-billion dollar joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical. Prior to that, he worked for The Dow Chemical Company as regional vice president for Hydrocarbons & Energy, and vice president, Mega Projects, in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Chen also spent 16 years at Royal Dutch Shell plc in various positions in R&D, commercial & marketing, strategy & planning, operations and business development in China, Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific region.
Chen holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in engineering from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
