Phospholipids play a critical role in the growth, maturing and functioning of all cells. They are the central building blocks of cell membranes. Even the tiniest cell in the human body contains phospholipids, and constantly needs more.

Soy lecithin is a complex mixture of phospholipids, triglycerides and carbohydrates.

Lecithin contains choline, which is an important precursor for many biochemical functions1.

  • Choline helps provide structure and fluidity in cell membranes
  • Choline improves transfer of nerve impulses to the brain and circulatory system
  • Choline aids in lipid and cholesterol transport and metabolism

Ultralec® deoiled lecithin is considered an excellent source of choline. The FDA permits a product to be labeled an “excellent source of choline”2 if a serving contains more than 110 mg of choline and as a “good source of choline”2 if a serving contains more than 55 mg of choline.

ADM’s line of Ultralec deoiled lecithin includes:

Capsulec® series of products are standardized, high-clarity lecithins designed for high-speed encapsulation systems. These products are designed for encapsulation applications requiring a low-viscosity lecithin product. The product’s low peroxide value and brilliant sheen permit consistently clear lecithin capsules.

ADM’s line of Capsulec lecithin includes:

  • Capsulec® 51-UB
  • Capsulec® 51- SB
  • Capsulec® 62- UB
  • Capsulec® 62-SB
