ADM launches new Arcon SFP line that replaces eggs and reduces costs in the food industry
ADM has launched new products from the Arcon Specialty Food Protein (SFP) line, a soy protein developed in Brazil to replace part of the eggs used in the manufacturing of pasta, cakes, panettones and mayonnaise.
The solution allows for a significant cost reduction for the industry, which can reach up to 45%, without compromising the sensory quality of the food. In tests carried out by ADM, the savings were up to 30% in pasta and cake recipes, and up to 45% in the production of panettones. Even with occasional drops in the price of eggs, Arcon SFP remains an advantageous alternative.
The new line maintains the functionalities of eggs in recipes, such as emulsification, moisture retention, viscosity and structure. In addition, it offers benefits such as greater price stability, extended shelf life, and ease of storage, without the need for refrigeration.
With this launch, ADM reinforces its portfolio of ingredient solutions for the food industry, with a focus on innovation, functionality and efficiency.
