Christopher Cuddy Named Managing Director of Almex

Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced that Christopher Cuddy has been named managing director of Almidones Mexicanos, SA de CV (ALMEX), effective January 1, 2009. Cuddy will succeed John Nichols as president of ALMEX when Nichols retires effective August 31, 2009.

Almidones Mexicanos, SA de CV (ALMEX) is a joint venture of Controladora ADM, S.A. DE C.V., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of ADM, and Tate & Lyle Ingredients. Located in Guadalajara, Mexico, ALMEX processes corn for sweeteners and starches.

Cuddy joined ADM in 1998 and was appointed vice president, Corn Processing, in 2004. He previously served as North American sales manager, Bioproducts, responsible for the sale and marketing of lysine and threonine; and world product manager for Ecotone® phaffia astaxanthin, a natural source of the pigment astaxanthin used as a coloring agent in fish feed. From 1998 to 2000, Cuddy was senior commodity trader for ADM.

Cuddy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Appalachian State University.
