2013-10-18

Stand 8J23, Food Ingredients Europe 2013, 19 - 21 November, Frankfurt, Germany
ADM Cocoa will present its extensive cocoa and chocolate collection at Food Ingredients Europe 2013. Part of Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), ADM Cocoa will be highlighting new additions to its proven deZaan cocoa powder range, including deZaan™ D11SQ and D-00-ZR. Showcasing a breadth of expertise, a range of high-quality products will also be on display for visitors to sample.

Visitors to the stand will find out more about ADM Cocoa's innovative chocolate solutions with a range of high-quality chocolates, cocoa butters, cocoa liquors and cocoa powders at the show. The deZaan D11SQ, an intensely flavoured, dark red-brown cocoa powder will be a special highlight. Conferring a unique, rich cocoa flavour in low dosage, D11SQ is suitable for use in a wide range of applications, including fine bakery wares, beverages, desserts and ice creams. ADM Cocoa will also be unveiling D-00-ZR, a reduced-fat cocoa powder with only 0.5 per cent fat. D-00-ZR is able to provide the desired depth of chocolate flavour to products that are formulated to be lower in calories or very low in total fat content.

These new cocoa powders complement ADM Cocoa’s widening portfolio, featuring dark, milk and white chocolates, as well as couvertures from the deZaan standard chocolate range. This high quality range is available in different tastes, viscosities, shapes and delivery format combinations to suit a variety of chocolate applications. For manufacturers looking to add variety to confectionery, bakery and dairy formulations, ADM Cocoa’s easy-to-use and versatile confectionery coatings and fillings complete the collection.

ADM Cocoa will also be showcasing its range of Unicao™ Pure Origin Cocoa Masses. Ivory Coast Cocoa Mass is made from 100 per cent Côte d’Ivoire bean cocoa mass, with low, medium and high roast varieties for use in premium chocolate products. The cocoa masses are available in a number of different flavour combinations, and can be tailored to suit a wide range of products. Visitors on stand will also be able to sample the Ghana Cocoa Mass, produced using 100 per cent Ghana cocoa beans.

Pioneering sustainability in the industry, experts from ADM Cocoa will be at the stand to review its commitment to ensuring a sustainable cocoa crop. The company has put in place a variety of programmes to ensure that the crops it sources are responsibly produced. For example, ADM Cocoa’s flagship SERAP programme (Socially and Environmentally Responsible Agricultural Practices) has distributed more than $20 million in funding to cocoa grower cooperatives and their members since it was established in 2005. In addition, ADM Cocoa offers chocolate, cocoa powder, cocoa butter and cocoa mass with UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, Fair Trade (USA), and Cocoa Practices certifications, which are audited by third party accredited auditors. Visitors will also be able to learn more about ADM’s decision to source segregated palm oil for its European cocoa and chocolate manufacturing facilities.

Experts on stand will also be available to discuss ADM Cocoa’s “Less is More” programme, which aims to help its cocoa and chocolate customers control costs while continuing to produce high quality products. The "less is more" programme allows manufacturers to use smaller quantities of high intensity powder to achieve the same, or better results than conventional products. At the forefront of the industry, the initiative was pioneered within the company’s Advantage Centres in Liverpool, UK, Mannheim, Germany, Koog, The Netherlands, Singapore and Milwaukee, USA. Here, ADM Cocoa R&D experts work alongside customers to shorten formulation time and increase efficiency on specific development projects.
