ADM Invested $117,000 to Support Community Efforts in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Feb. 5, 2015 – During 2014, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) contributed grants totaling more than $117,000 to more than 20 Cedar Rapids-area organizations and programs.“ ADM has 580 employees in Cedar Rapids, and we want to do our part to help ensure Cedar Rapids remains a great place to live and work,” said Eric Fasnacht, plant manager for ADM’s corn processing facility in Cedar Rapids.

The grants were given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.

About ADM in Cedar Rapids

ADM has been operating in Cedar Rapids for more than 40 years. The company’s corn wet and dry mills produce sweeteners and starches, animal feeds and ethanol. ADM also operates a co-generation facility on its property that produces enough steam and electricity to meet the plant’s power needs. The company’s other local operations include trucking and railcar repair. Together, these facilities employ more than 580 ADM colleagues.
