Decatur Area Students Win ADM Scholarships

DECATUR, Ill., June 12, 2013 – Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) announced today that Aaron Anderson and Allison Kerper have been awarded college scholarships through the ADM Scholarship Program.“Congratulations to Aaron and Allison from all of us at ADM,” said Mike D’Ambrose, ADM senior vice president, human resources. “These two students were selected to receive ADM scholarships because they have already shown remarkable dedication and commitment to their academic work, their extracurricular activities, and to their communities. We are pleased to be able to help provide them the opportunity for even more outstanding achievements in the future.”

Anderson, a recent graduate of Meridian High School, would like to attend the University of North Dakota, where he plans to study petroleum engineering. His parents both work at ADM in Decatur. His father, Edward Anderson, is an environmental engineer, and his mother, Jilletta Anderson, is a human resources coordinator.

Kerper graduated from Eisenhower High School. She hopes to attend Loyola University Chicago, where she is interested in studying biological and biomedical science. Her father, Daniel Kerper, is a tax administrator at ADM. Her mother, Joanne Kerper, also works at ADM as a sensory panelist.

The ADM Scholarship Program was created to assist the children of ADM active employees with the costs associated with a college education. Winners were selected on the basis of high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT; academic record throughout high school; significant activities and contributions to the school and community; the school’s recommendation of the candidate; and a student essay.
