ADM Recognized for Military Veteran Mentoring and Hiring Program

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Veterans Day, a day in which Americans pause to honor and thank those who have served the nation, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) is proud to announce that it has been named a Military Friendly® Employer by Victory Media, which publishes G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM, and Military Spouse magazines. As a reflection of the company’s continued efforts to advance its military veteran outreach programs, ADM was named one of the top manufacturers in the U.S. for attracting, retaining and hiring veterans.

ADM also announced today a partnership with FASTPORT—a veteran employment software development company—and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes Agriculture Fast Track program. The partnership will help further accelerate the company’s military outreach programs by increasing ADM’s presence at military transition summits and career fairs, and helping connect veterans interested in pursuing a career at ADM with mentors who can provide support and advice.

“Veterans, National Guardsmen and reservists bring valuable capabilities to private-sector employers: proven leadership, exceptional reliability, mission-focus and the ability to work well in teams,” said Michael D’Ambrose, senior vice president and chief human resources officer for ADM. “When employers take the necessary steps to support and accommodate them, the benefits can be tremendous, and we are definitely see those results here at ADM.”

“We are delighted that ADM has partnered to take an industry leadership role on the Agriculture Fast Track,” said Eric Eversole, vice president, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and president, Hiring Our Heroes, which is a Chamber initiative designed to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities. “A strong agriculture industry is critical to the growth of our country and our economy,” he said.

“ADM has a record of providing service members with transition assistance to help them successfully apply skills learned during their service to their civilian career,” said Bill McLennan, FASTPORT CEO. “They have a well-earned reputation for supporting our nation’s heroes, and we look forward to helping this military-ready company continue to grow and improve that effort.”

ADM is committed to recognizing, honoring and enforcing the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and partnerships with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and Hiring Our Heroes.
