More Than 2.4 Million Meals Distributed Across the UK Through Felix's Food Redistribution Network with the Support of ADM Cares

8/6/2026

ROLLE - ADM Cares, ADM's corporate social investment program, supported the redistribution of approximately 2.26 million pounds (1,025 metric tonnes) of high-quality surplus food to communities in need across the UK, helping reduce food waste and delivering the equivalent of 2.44 million meals through Felix's food redistribution network.

The initiative highlights the critical role transportation plays in tackling both food waste and food insecurity. Surplus food often has a limited window in which it can be collected, sorted, and delivered. Without the vehicles, drivers and infrastructure needed to move food quickly, much of it risks going to waste. By ensuring this food reaches those who need it most, transportation helps repurpose and redistribute surplus food to support more than 8,000 community organisations across the UK, reaching over 1.5 million people and strengthening communities nationwide.

"Transport is the critical link between surplus food and community impact," said Mike Ward, Head of Statutory Fundraising, Trusts and Foundations. "ADM Cares' support has helped ensure more good food reaches charities and community organisations instead of going to waste."

The food has benefited a wide range of organisations, including schools, community centres, homeless hostels, refuges and family support services across the UK.

"Reducing food waste requires practical solutions that connect surplus food with communities," said Jonathan Lane, Managing Director, ADM Agriculture and ADM UK Country Manager. "Through ADM Cares, we are pleased to support Felix's transport network, helping ensure good food reaches people who need it."

The collaboration reflects ADM's commitment to creating lasting impact in the communities where its colleagues live and work. Through ADM Cares, the company supports initiatives that advance social, economic and environmental progress through strategic funding, volunteerism and the sharing of industry expertise.

About Felix
Felix was founded in 2026 following the merger of The Felix Project and FareShare. The charity rescues good-to-eat surplus food, that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste, from across the food industry. That food is repurposed and shared to support more than 8,000 community organisations across the UK, reaching over 1.5 million people. The charity manages seven depots and works with 16 network partners to operate a total of 35 depots across the UK.

FareShare was founded in 1994 by Sainsbury's and Crisis to serve homeless shelters with food. It grew into the leading national redistribution charity by forming partnerships with major supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda. The Felix Project was started in 2016 by Justin and Jane Byam Shaw in memory of their son Felix, who died suddenly from meningitis, aged just 14. It grew rapidly to become London's largest food redistribution charity. For more information visit www.felix.org
