ADM Announces Appointment of Lehmann & Voss & Co. for Bio-Based Dispersants

ROLLE, Switzerland, 1st July 2013 - ADM will begin distributing its proven range of dispersants products in the EU, with the appointment of Hamburg-based chemical distribution company, Lehmann & Voss & Co. ADM’s high quality, bio-based dispersant products will be available to paints, inks, coatings and pigment paste manufacturers in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy, in order to meet the rising demand for products derived from renewable sources.Part of the Evolution Chemicals™ range, the ADM Dispersants line of Bio-Advantaged products draws on ADM’s in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of this chemical industry sector to produce high performance pigment dispersants. ADM’s innovative agricultural processing experience complements Lehmann & Voss & Co.’s long heritage of selling chemical and mineral specialities to industrial customers. Following recent research and development efforts to produce Bio-Advantaged products, such as propylene glycol, ADM is at the forefront of bio-based dispersants innovation.

Largely due to rising production costs across the industry, pigment dispersion can be a time and energy consuming element of paint and coatings production, affecting performance and profitability. Laboratory and application tests, however, show that ADM dispersants have key advantages over industry standard polymeric pigments, providing excellent pigment particle wetting and stabilization, allowing their use in the development of products with widely varying hues and consistencies.
