ADM Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts Facilities Receive Highest BRC Quality Rating

ALPHARETTA, Georgia, June 8, 2017—Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts, a subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), today announced that five of its facilities received the highest quality and safety rating from the British Retail Consortium’s (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety.

“One of the reasons Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts is an industry leader is that our customers know we offer the very highest quality peanut and tree nut products,” said Greg Mills, president, Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts. “Over the last year, as part of our continued focus on quality, we’ve held training sessions and implemented new processes across our entire network, and we are proud to be recognized for our efforts by receiving BRC’s highest food safety quality rating at all five of our facilities that have been inspected so far this year.”

Recently receiving AA ratings from BRC are Golden Peanut’s shelling plant and its refinery in Dawson, Georgia; and its shelling plants in Ashburn, Georgia; Comyn, Texas; and Seagraves, Texas.

BRC food safety audits concentrate on seven criteria, including:

  • Senior management commitment and continual improvement
  • Food safety plan
  • Food safety and quality management system
  • Site standards
  • Product control
  • Process control
  • Personnel
