Biodiesel is an advanced biofuel that is
renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. As a diesel
substitute, biodiesel provides engine lubricity improvements while reducing
greenhouse gas emissions. Our biodiesel is produced through a patented process
known as transesterification, in which vegetable oils are heated with alcohol in
the presence of a catalyst to yield mono-alkyl esters (biodiesel) and glycerin.
Biodiesel feedstocks can be vegetable oils, rendered animal fats, algae oils as
well as used cooking oils and greases.
ADM sustainably produces biodiesel from vegetable oils in the EU, Brazil, Canada and in the US. ADM products are fully compliant with all EU, South American and North American quality standards.
