ADM Cares Supports Communities in Eastern Spain Following Devastating Flooding

ADM Cares, ADM's corporate social investment program, announced a donation of $100,000 USD to support Cruz Roja Española (Spanish Red Cross) and $50,000 USD to help seven local schools affected by flooding.

Following the impact of the devastating flooding in the province of Valencia, Spain, the contribution from ADM Cares helped support Cruz Roja Española who were on the ground and responding to help communities in Valencia and other affected areas by providing temporary shelters, meals, hygiene kits, and blankets for those in need. The linked infographic details the Cruz Roja Española's response so far.

ADM Cares additionally announced a donation of $50,000 USD to support seven schools located in the towns of Guadasuar, Montserrat, Chiva, Algemesi, and Aldaia. The contribution will help locally impacted schools with emergency repairs following the flooding and ensure that children can return to class as soon as possible. The schools are also receiving IT equipment donations including screens and computers which have been sent from ADM sites across Europe.

ADM colleagues have also been volunteering to help in the local community as well as contributing to fundraisers to support Cruz Roja Española which have raised over $24,000 USD.

"Seeing the impact of the floods was heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted, especially those who have lost loved ones," said Francisco Climent, ADM Spain Country Manager. "We were pleased to help Cruz Roja Española in their efforts to support those dealing with the difficult aftermath."

ADM's contribution is provided through ADM Cares which helps sustain and strengthen communities where ADM colleagues work, live and operate by directing funding, volunteerism, and industry knowledge to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide.
