ADM’s Greg Morris Talks Sustainability with Reuters
Greg Morris, ADM’s president of Ag Services & Oilseeds, is passionate about making sustainability an important part of the entire ag supply chain. He spoke with Karl Plume at Reuters about this topic as part of the recent Reuters Commodity Trading Summit, held virtually this year Nov. 9-10.
“I think today given the urgency around sustainability, climate change, carbon intensity, there’s more at stake,” Morris said. “We know that in agriculture and in the ag supply chains, we have a role to play to reduce the carbon intensity to protect the planet.”
Morris discussed ADM’s unique position and ability to influence the entire ag supply chain – from sustainable farming practices, to food ingredients and even sustainably packaging solutions. But most importantly, he talked about how sustainability has become more than just an initiative at ADM – it’s becoming part of our culture and how we operate.
“If you can match up your culture with the vision that you have in terms of making a difference in the world, then I think you can do some really cool things, even beyond serving the noble purpose of feeding a growing population,” Morris said. “There’s an opportunity for the ag industry to step up and drive change to help protect the planet.”
