• Broad portfolio and extensive application expertise for plant-based/flexitarian diets as well as complete solutions
HEIDELBERG-EPPELHEIM, October 5, 2019 – At the ANUGA trade fair in Cologne, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) will present its holistic approach for developing market-ready complete solutions serving flexitarian nutrition. Thanks to a complete in-house value chain and brand-new, globally cross-linked development centers, ADM is the culinary partner of choice for rapid go-to-market strategies.
Unique ingredients portfolio: a one-stop shop
The demand for plant-based meat alternative solutions is rising steadily. Jochen Heininger, Vice President Human Nutrition Marketing EMEAI says: “A few years ago, we were still talking about a trend. Today, it is clear that plant-based and vegetarian products are joining the mainstream thanks to the many consumers with ‘flexitarian’ diets.” More and more products are entering the market and their improved high quality is making them ever more popular. “Suppliers who want to succeed in this market can no longer compromise when it comes to developing sophisticated concepts,” says Heininger. This is no easy task: appealing products need a wide range of ingredients, such as plant-based proteins, natural flavors and colors from natural sources, fats, oils and lecithin. As one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient suppliers, ADM provides all the ingredients needed for high-quality plant-based concepts.
Application expertise: Know-how for all ingredients
Many consumers compare plant-based meat alternatives with the original products and tolerate only minor differences in texture or flavor. Therefore the development of these applications is very complex. ADM has decades of experience with plant-based proteins as well as natural flavors and colors from natural sources. “Our developers have many years of experience working with these relevant ingredients. They can precisely balance the different ingredients and deliver a rapid go-to-market strategy,” says Heininger. ADM also has numerous production sites ensuring to meet the high demand for plant-based proteins.
Products for flexitarians: All you could want and more
ADM developers have combined a special fibrous soy component (Fibrous Soya Textura®) with structure-providing soy concentrates. This enabled them to create new plant-based soy alternatives without compromising on taste or texture.
The Fibrous Soya Textura® was integrated into the concept of a ramen soup to demonstrate the amazing resemblance to real meat structure. In addition to this concept, ADM will also present further culinary concepts at its stand, which showcase ingredients and product solutions from the broad ADM portfolio. “Therefore producers can use these to rapidly position themselves in the market with popular products likely to be in high demand,” says Patrick Köberle, Product Management EMEAI, ADM Nutrition/WFSI.
Visitors to ANUGA are invited to learn more about the comprehensive ADM portfolio, which will be presented at our stand in complete concepts. First-class creations can be found and enjoyed. Visit us in hall 8.1 -– stand D-010-E-019.
