The EnviroStrip wheat starch stripping process removes coatings using a polymerized form of wheat starch propelled by pressurized air. The low pressures, typically 20 to 40 psi, and relatively soft media have minimal effect on the surfaces beneath the coating or paint. This process removes virtually every type of aerospace coating, allowing a broad range of applications on both metallic and composite materials.

EnviroStrip wheat starch media is preferably used in specially designed equipment, or any light abrasive blasting system (e.g. plastic media) fitted with appropriate modifications. Dry stripping with wheat starch media is performed worldwide in hand cabinets, blast rooms, and full-scale (hangar) aircraft depaint operations.
