In 1902, John W. Daniels formed the Daniels Linseed Company to produce linseed oil. George A. Archer joined the Company the following year, and in 1905, the Company name was changed to the Archer Daniels Linseed Company. After a merger with Midland Linseed Products Company in 1923, Archer Daniels Midland Company became the world’s largest producer of linseed oil.

Today, ADM is one of the world’s largest agricultural processors. Each day, ADM processes 3.5 million bushels of soybeans, canola, sunflower and other oilseeds; two million bushels of corn; and one million bushels of wheat. The Company also grinds about 15 percent of the global cocoa crop. ADM transforms these crops into hundreds of food ingredients, animal feed ingredients, fuels and industrial products that serve vital needs of millions of people every day.
