CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, June 12, 2013 – Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) announced today that Christopher P. Culver has been awarded a college scholarship through the ADM Scholarship Program.“Congratulations to Christopher from all of us at ADM,” said Aaron Schlenker, senior manager at ADM’s corn processing plant in Cedar Rapids. “Christopher was selected to receive this ADM scholarship because he has already shown remarkable dedication and commitment to his academic work, extracurricular activities, and to his community. Culver, a recent graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, plans to study drama and theater arts in college. His father, Brent Culver, is an engineer at ADM’s Cedar Rapids corn processing complex.
The ADM Scholarship Program was created to assist the children of ADM active employees with the costs associated with a college education. Winners were selected on the basis of high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT; academic record throughout high school; significant activities and contributions to the school and community; the school’s recommendation of the candidate; and a student essay.
