ADM-Benson Quinn Donates to Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center
ABERDEEN, S.D., May 4, 2012—Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) has donated $1500 to the Sanford Health Foundation. The donation will go toward Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center’s Shadow Buddies Program. Shadow Buddies are given to children within a hospital or medical treatment facility setting to provide hands-on education regarding illness, disability, and/or medical treatment.
“ADM strives to make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Craig Henry, Operations Manager for ADM-Benson Quinn Tulare South Dakota. “We are proud to present this donation to Sanford and look forward to helping their Child Life Program succeed in the goal of blending education and play through creative ways to help pediatric patients cope with the stress and anxiety of medical procedures, surgery, or hospitalization.”
Henry presented the check to Tammy Gottman, Certified Child Life Specialist and Gordon Larson, CEO for Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center on May 2nd at Sanford’s new hospital in Aberdeen.
“We appreciate ADM as a funding partner to ensure children, adolescents, and their families can master challenging life events related to illness, injury, and hospitalization,” Larson said.
The donation was given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.
